The Anesthetist’s Management of Multiple Truma

Abstract

|
The development of traffic, especially mortar-car traffic caused the increase f multiple trauma, cases, complicated by unconsciousness, respiratory failure, circulatory and acute ´renal failure.
The anesthetist´s roles in the treatment of such a multiple trauma case ;was reviewed. The major role was management of respiratory paralysis by IPPV using artificial respirator and tracheostomy and the management of the acute renal failure by peritoneal dialysis.
The authors experienced one case of retroperitoneal hematoma, femur head fracture with urethral rupture complicated by unconsciousness, respiratory failure, aspiration pneumonia and anuria for 15. days after the surgery.
The cooperation of general surgeon, neurosurgeon, urologist internist and anesthetist was quite important to manage this case and ICU care was stressed.
